As many success stories, ours began in a small mechanical workshop in which Costantino Bettinelli laid the inspiration for today’s CB Automation.

Over the past 70 years, we have continuously invested in research, innovation and especially in the people who work with us. We believe that our success depends directly on the capabilities and dedication of our employees and are committed to offering them the best opportunities for professional growth and development.

1953

After many years of experience at Canavese, Costantino Bettinelli founded a small company specializing in processing and turning metal parts.

60's

Work is increasing and, thanks to cooperation with high specialized local technicians, production is becoming more diverse. The production of small parts takes place in parallel with the production of gas burners for industrial and domestic ovens and stators for electric motors. The excellent reputation the company already enjoys is being consolidated in the market.

70’s

The company continues to grow and specializes in the production of precision mechanical parts for automatic machines in various sectors spread throughout Lombardy. At the end of the 70s, after the death of the
founder, the company was run by his two sons, Ferdinando Bettinelli and Vincenzo Bettinelli.
Vincenzo immediately took care of the technical part, perfecting the production process, while Ferdinando
devoted himself to the commercial sector

80’s

In the mid-80s, in order to meet market demands and an ever-increasing workload, the company moved to the former De Magistris factory in Bagnolo Cremasco.

90’s

Reorganization of family property. With a leverage buy-out operation the company is transformed into a joint stock company to better support growth and development on an industrial scale.
In the late 1990s, the company was reorganized on a divisional basis and two distinct business units were created.
One specialized in precision cam positioners and was later branded as CDS Cam Drive System.
The other division is specialized in automated assembly lines, with a particular focus on companies in the medical,
pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors, and is developed under the CB Automation brand.
Bettinelli F.lli SpA obtains the certification of the Quality System ISO 9001, certificate No. 1022/4 date 20 July
1998. With its proven competencies, the company has reaffirmed its strategic role as the ideal partner for both
European and global companies.
Diversification continues with the acquisition of a stake in API Srl, a small company specialized in the production of
machines for the packaging of disposable sanitary products.

00’s

The company began an era of global development strategy by establishing subsidiaries in the United
States, Germany, and India. The business unit specialized in flexible assembly and control line is created, with a specific focus on the medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and home care sectors. The CB Automation Assembly Technology trademark is registered in the European Union trademarks.

10’s

The R&;D activities allow to implement the capabilities of the automatic platforms of CB Automation through the software based on a new approach to the transmission of the motion of automatic machines. Incomparable flexibility and process optimization are just some of the benefits of the new technology.

The company TUMAC joins the Bettinelli F.lli SPA group. The company near Milan produces vibrating technology
systems for industrial automation.

20’s

The assembly platforms evolve through indexed, continuous and robotic technologies, with the
supervision of key account people. MIT, acronym for Mech-I-Tronic, has taken control of the majority of the shares of Bettinelli F.lli Spa, with the intention of becoming a global reference point in the field of mechatronics.

Linking industrial history and innovation

Today CB Automation has its headquarters in a building of 1911, which was carefully renovated in the mid-’90s and has preserved all its characteristic industrial elements. The historic character of the entire building is the flagship of our small territory.

The production units were built along waterways to take advantage of the electrical power generation capacity to power the machinery, reminiscent of factories similar to the most famous industrial village of Crespi d’Adda. In the property there is a water storage and power generation system that is still in operation.

Far from the hectic industrial areas of the metropolitan city of Milan, CB Automation with its 28,000 m2, is located near the main roads, logistic hubs and a few kilometers from the airports of Milan and Bergamo.

Partnership

Thanks to the partnership with technical institutes and universities such as the Politecnico di Milano, the University of Pavia and University of Brescia, CB Automation values the territory in an innovative way and supports students to enter the world of work.
